I've searched everywhere, and I know we've discussed it....but I can't find a darned thing. If anyone has a link, please respond. Thanks!

Thanks, I was really looking for sweatband stamps, but the liner is probably a better indicator. The 'hunchback beaver' leaning against the rectangle was in use in the late 1950's and my liner is pretty definitive to the late 1950's, so I'm good to go.

I visited an antique store today to see a 7 5/8 Open Road I'd been told about, just because I'd never seen one. It was sold, but the seller had a 7 1/4+ late 1950's 3x Beaver Open Road in superb condition. So it's mine now. I've owned many of these from the early to mid-1950's, and the felt on this later one holds up with those, surprisingly.

Scott <=== now capable of looking like a going-to-meeting Cowboy.

The link I sent was for crest dating and it works for the sweatband crest too. There’s a separate thread for the liner.

Deadlyhandsome - thanks, I see my mistake. The crest thread is a good one - thank you.

Now this will be fun - I'll check that thread out and see if my guesswork was correct.
