Buying from Australia

I just bought an Akubra Bogart from Hats by the Hundred. When I bought the hat the price they gave on the website was $77 U.S. plus $13 U.S. for shipping for a total of $90 U.S. I just got my credit card statement which listed the price at $117 U.S. The statement did list the price of the hat in Australian dollars which was the same as the price listed on the receipt, $136 Australian, which came with the hat. As anyone else had something like that happen with an Australian hat purchase?

Can't say I have. The price of my Fed Dlx plus shipping was the price that appeared on my statement. However...

I am in the UK, so there could be no confusion in the currecny symbols between AU$ and £. I am wondering if in your case, someone somewhere confused the dollar signs, and without the prefix "AU" assumed that an amount shown in Australian dollars was in fact US dollars.

That's all I can think of. Have you contacted you bank or the shop to find out what might have happened?

Sorry to hear you've had a problem, anyway - hope you get it fixed soon. :)

Contact them ASAP via email and tell them you had gone by the $77 for US and was charged the Austrailian price in US$, I am sure they will fix it promptly. Most e-commerce places make some mistakes along the way and most will fix it as soon as you let them know.
