my current project. :D
i collect vintage cameras (and use them too!) the hard part is getting the digital camera for the guts! i keep finding more old/manual camera stuff that i need/want and suddenly i'm broke again...

The fact that these had a major defect, requiring Leica to give out filters to fix the magenta cast in black tones, really hurt their reputation - and their first attempt at getting a digital M to the market. It's also not a full frame sensor.

The people who own them seem to be happy, but for the money, my first serious digital is the Nikon D80. If I want to spend more for a full frame, I'll move up to a D300 for $2k. Of course, I'll keep shooting film with my M7.

The D300 isn't full frame. It is however a much better camera than the D80 (which itself is very good for the money).

I use a D200 and D70 for most of my serious digital work. When I am in 1940s mode I mostly use one of these:

I bought one of those mini Leica cameras and I would not recommend it. It's really just a toy that takes marginal "high res" photos. I bought it on Ebay last year, owned it for one day, then sold it on Ebay for what I paid.

Most of those photos were made with a selection of cheap, beaten up box cameras, zeiss Ikon, kodak brownie, etc.
I never paid more then 10 euros for them.
After a while they fall apart and I move on to a new one.
Recently I was given two cameras, the last photos in the collection were made with the camera on the right;
