Back to the Bones: Restoring 50's Homes.

I remember when my parents sold our farm. We bought it in very rough shape, everyone said to bulldoze it, and the outbuildings. The bathroom was falling into the basement, the roof was still the original cedar, and was about half-gone. It had been used for a rental and clearly had not been...

Back to the Bones: Restoring 50's Homes.

We flip houses, and we always retain as much of the original charm of the homes, as possible. Some complain about things being 'dated' but luckily, with most homes around here being prewar, the old fashioned woodwork and such is now seen as an attribute, more than anything. The saddest thing...

The south has a lot, still a lot of belief in alcohol being the root of all evil lol I live in Wisconsin, we put beer in our Cheerios!

Dunno much about women, and even less about Texan women, but if you say they're a good thing, I am sure they are.

lol Pam is something special! I completely agree with you, there. Cheaply ostentatious is definitely the perfect term. With even minor inspection, a lot of the modern 'luxury' items appear to be poor quality. I've never been in a Lowe's. We have Menard's around here, which I'm sure is...

Back to the Bones: Restoring 50's Homes.

Interesting, I had never heard of that. I actually like pink bathrooms, but don't think one would be appropriate in the home of this single 22 year old male lol I get so tired of finding mid-century ranches in my home shopping, and they look like a Lowe's Catalog inside, so this was a...

I can't remember the name of the town anymore, it was an hour from DFW, to the east/northeast, if I remember correctly. Where you are is starting to sound like a good choice! So long as it's hippie/hipster free lol

Back to the Bones: Restoring 50's Homes.

Interesting article on a couple who brought their home back to its original glory. They also spoke with Pam from Retro Renovation. Here's hoping more and more folks show interest in restoration, rather than remuddling...

I paid 2 bucks each for them. I know, I have a problem lol This place is packed to the gills. I plan on renting a semi, though, so I think it'll all fit. If I go, I plan on selling off all my furniture (besides the vintage stuff) so that'll save a lot of room, too. I've pegged you as a...

Yup, wherever I go, I gotta be able to buy booze. I was looking at a place, about an hour from DFW and you can't even be in possession of any alcohol there. Gee whiz.

Most inconvenient places to be a hat wearer

I have problems in any car smaller than a full-size. I simply have to take the hat off and set it in my lap, or it's game over. My own cars are usually alright, just getting in and out, sometimes I smack my hat on the top of the door frame. My Caddy is nice, because I can adjust the seat up...

No, I actually paid pretty good for some of the stuff. I actually have another white plastic one just like that. It resides in my parents garage and we listen to it on a regular basis.

Made a little road trip today and did fairly well. My best friend came along, who luckily knows what kinda stuff I like to buy, because he found about half the things I came home with.

Yeah, I didn't even think of it, but a large amount of Texas is dry, not just the western desert part :p

Some good, some bad. I'm still trying to figure out somewhere I can go that isn't a dry county.
