Hi, I searched for this and found one thread. I was wondering if anyone had any additional experience/knowledge to share. 2 of the site sponsors sell this and it seems to be a good price, I just want to figure out if it is a good value as well.
Thanks,

Hi Harp,
I'm 37 and currently studying Kyokushin Kai, here in the US, being taught by one of Mas Oyama's students. Suffice to say, I have never been as banged up as I am now (including during military field exercises or after 24hr Mountain Bike...
I'm starting to realize that. I bought a "work hat" and a "knock around hat" then I realized I need another color work hat, then a "work panama" and a "knock around panama", it just doesn't end.
Hats, fountain pens, bicycles...thankfully my wife agrees these pursuits are better than...
and I thought it was a chore to re-hang pictures after painting the walls....
Very nice collection JT. My 2 hats would look very lonely if they were hung like that.
thanks Tom!
Tom,
Thanks for the information, insight and reality check. I guess reading the forums makes me forget that most likely all the hats discussed are quite nice.
Based on your post, I think a Cuenca and a lower end Montechristi are in the plans for next spring/summer...
Hi,
I'm new here and am planning for a Panama Hat for next summer. I've read up on the Montechristi and Cuenca versions of the Panama hat. Right now, the Cuenca is within my budget, but I would hate to "throw that money away" with a hat that only lasted a summer or two.
I would...
welcome, from one newbie to another
Hi Barb,
I'm not sure where you are in New England, but there is also Del Monico Hatter in New Haven, CT (http://www.delmonicohatter.com) The staff is very helpful, showing you the full range of what they have, explaining why one hat may cost $185 and...
Hi,
I just returned from a shopping trip to Del Monico Hatters in New Haven, CT. While I really wanted the $185 Borsalino, I settled for the Bailey Kessler Felt Hat. This is a wool felt hat, but it felt good on the head, and looks pretty sharp as well.
I'll post a picture of mine when...
another question
I'm another newbie, and was wondering if people use the same hat for work and play, or if you have a "work hat" and a "weekend hat" that you would wear for hikes with the kids, knocking around the yard, etc.
From what I've read the general trend is "lots of hats", but please...
thanks!
If you go to http://www.isellpens.com there are some quite reasonably priced pens. Also, you can check out reviews of different pens at http://www.fountainpennetwork.com
Honestly, the majority of my pens are in the sub-$50 range, and it was a year or so before I bought a pen more...
my introduction
Hi,
my name is French, and I found this site while looking for some information on proper hats, not the caps that have permeated our society. I still haven't purchased my first real hat, but have been scouring the Burlington Coat Factory stores in my region as well as...
fountain pens and air travel
Hi,
this is my first post here, but I've been a member of the Fountain Pen Network (http://www.fountainpennetwork.com) for a couple of years, and I fly a lot due to my job.
I have only taken my modern pens with me on flights. I've heard a lot of what has...
