    Rope (1948)

I love Hitchcock films, they're really well done and I always enjoyed them as a kid (and even now). Its fun to spot the Hitchcock cameos too, I think in the Rope there was a photo of him on the back of a book or magazine? I can't remember, but this is definitely one of the good ones. I also...

Looking Good While Setting Your Hair

clara my guy has similar sentiments. He equates curlers to a guy wearing shorts with socks and sandals (we just talked about this last night). I really don't think the curlers look THAT bad. Oh well, sometimes I give them up and sometimes he's forced to see me in curlers. There's really not much...

    What about that frizz?

I have pretty much the same kind of hair. Definitely try the bigger rollers, I think mine are a little over 1inch diameter. Also after I wash my hair I apply a leave in conditioner and then blow dry until just damp, then I use a smoothing serum, (try nexxus smoothing cream) and put up in...

    Show us your hair do's....

to join in on the frizzy hair treatment conversation. I too, have naturally curly, thick frizzy hair. The best methods I found to tame it are: shampoo (only the scalp and let the water rinse it through the rest of the hair) condition and deep condition every 2-3 days. Apply gel/mousse while wet...

    Ideal bodies for the eras

hourglass figures are great for vintage clothes, I'm a 38-28-40 and find that 40s and 50s styles suit me best (they're my favorite so that works out well) Even some early 60s dresses are great for hourglass figures. Wavy hair is also perfect for a vintage style. Also, I have difficulty finding...

    vintage cowgirl attire

dhermann I think guys are getting into this too (kind of), most don't wear the more decorated shirts and aren't very authentic vintage western unless seventies western counts. Anyways, enjoy Patsy and play some Webb Pierce for me! Here's more of the lovely Dale Evans and a few of Patsy Cline

    vintage cowgirl attire

My most recent project is to recreate a vintage 40s / 50s cowgirl costume. I was hoping you ladies might have photos to post for inspiration, movie recommendations, resources for fringed gloves, hats, boots, and pattern suggestions. I originally wanted a vintage outfit, but I've scoured the...

    Esquire Varga, damaged

my guy does museum quality framing and uses uv glass or plex to keep out the sun and light, this will help preserve the piece (although it can be expensive) And definitely look for acid free paper and backing.
