I've photographed hats a lot of times to show on this site, and the color between any two shots can be vastly different. Flash vs no flash would be enough to cause the difference in color you've shown us, IMO. But the folds...
I guess the 100% beaver is heavier than the rabbit mixes used in vintage hats?

I would find it hard to believe that you couldn't get enjoyment out of one of the Bailey hats, assuming you like the style. They are well made for the price, IMO.

There's nothing wrong with buying a wool hat. If you're a large size, and don't have a lot of money - it's a good option. They also make a good travel hat, since they can be put into a suitcase, or bag, and come out looking like new.

I have a Bailey "Tino" litefelt, and it's a nice hat for $40 - very comfortable. Your Bailey looks good on you.
As for straw porkpies, look at the Fiesta porkpie at villagehatshop.com. I like mine.

Hi Scott. Yes, there are two things I spend too much money on, and both start with "s": Stetson and Stickley.
