You know what? I referred to the eagle device as substandard. That's not right. Not at all. In fact, it looks pretty darn good. It's got a few of the tiniest rough spots around the edges, like from where it was molded. Just that when you compare it to the superior nature of the rest of the...
I'm pretty excited about showing this. I know, in the HATS section, there exists the great merged crusher thread, but I want to see if I can get a sort of...more specific thread going over here in WWII where the interest may be a little more focused.
Today I received my Diamond Flighter, and...
I'd like to add my endorsement to Bill Kelso Mfg. At least as good as a Real McCoys that I had for a little while. I have the Rough Wear 27752. Customer service is really solid, shipping ( with the assumption they have everything you're looking for ready to rock ) was very quick to the US, and...
Here is a thread I started on the crusher a while back.

Incidentally, I wore it a total of maybe three or four times for short periods.
EDIT: also - Playboy sale is pending
Here's a garage sale sort of listing.
PLAYBOY IS SOLD
I've got a Stetson Playboy in 7 1/4 long oval. Good shape, save for a couple of moth bites you can see in the pictures.
$85 shipped CONUS

Here are some pics of the Bill Kelso Rough Wear 27752 being worn. I'm not typically shy about showing my face, but man! : I'm a mess...
Unzipped, holding an authentic Luxenburg crush cap for color reference. The pants are WPG's officer pinks...
While tending towards the red end of the spectrum, the liner is definitely a more orange color as you'd expect from an A-2. When I get some more pictures up, I'll try to be more aware of depicting that ( maybe hold something that's obviously red...? ).
As to the size, after having a couple of...

I'm offering a Real McCoy's Dunbow A2
The size on the tags reads '46' and, while I typically wear a 46 off the rack, I'd say this fits closer to a 44. I'm 6 feet tall and about 210lbs.
That statement takes into account the vintage military fit of authentic A2 reproductions: it just gets me a...
I like that hat! Particularly the slight roll at the edge of the brim. A good example of a man wearing a western hat, and not the other way around ( which I have plenty opportunities to see...).
Then you'll be happy to see what's on deck for me. It's one I've been trying to scrounge up for a while, but it finally looks like I'm gonna score. Definitely a thin ribbon and, while I wouldn't necessarily call it my 'dream hat', it comes close.
Aaaaalmost picked that one up, myself ^^^^ ( the straw Strat ) - looks really nice on you.
Here's a bankshot of the Whippet I'm wearing out in a few minutes. I thought I was being clever with the shot, until now. I see it makes my hat look a little bit for me. Tut.

I can't walk out of my favorite place to drink without dropping somewhere in the neighborhood of $80 for drinks of two. Reassessing that expenditure, I stocked up the house with enough booze and mixers to, as Lynard Skynard would say, float a battleship around, and coming out waaaaay ahead. My...
A day late with this one; sort of the sequel to yesterday's post. Later in the evening, after this concert -

Here are two really poorly made Tom Collins and an Open Road:
My favorite hat.
I like the color of that Optimo, and you really can't beat the construction of a Penman, but what I'm taking away today is: I hope one day I'll be swave (yes, I know...) enough to carry off a hat like the one Rodkins has up there.
Those of you asking about my chair in yesterdays post - that was...
I sent this site some pictures of my kit. Some of it was collected after the 'big change', and some I've had since the days of the Jeep and palm trees.
