    I spoke with Hat People awhile back about the wool. It is made by Pendleton(I have some of their shirts, very nice) and the herringbone caps are made with the wool used in their sport coats whereas the heavier heather caps are made from the wool used in overcoats.

    I'm in the exact same boat of looking for my first fedora. I'm would like to stay around $100 and was considering the Akubra Campdraft based on reviews. But, I'm not seeing anyone suggest it here. Is there something about it which would eliminate it from the starter category?
