I forgot the name of it but it was an almost champagne type color. Amazing felt. I think there was only left, and not my size, but not sure if there will be any more made or available in the future. Still have my eye on it though!
Finally visited Worth and Worth today and I had such an amazing experience. It was like being a kid in a candy store with their beautiful selection of hats.
And the service was absolutely fantastic. Brandon took care of me, who was not just one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever...
I plan on going this week! I actually visited the store already but it was closed, because it was Sunday.
I really need to get a new ribbon for my straw. And I hope to talk to them about working on my Churchill.
Just got my first Open Road which I won on eBay. A real beautiful hat.
It came in its original (?) cattlemen's crease, but I am trying to give it a new block - more of a fedora shape.
But it is real hard. I am not seasoned at this stuff, but am trying my best to re-shape it. Its being...
Those are some very nice looking ribbons! Thanks so much for the ideas!
Right now I am thinking about a dark brown "intertwined" ribbon (with no bow) or a nice rich blue?
Just revisiting this thread because I bought this Stetson straw hat

but really don't like the ribbon. Maybe I am spoiled because I own a couple of legit vintage straws with beautiful ribbons, but I just can't stand the ribbon on...
I emailed Worth and Worth about having a repair done and a ribbon replaced but as of a couple of weeks, still no answer. I will probably just give them a call. I live in NYC so it would be ideal if they can work on my hat.
I just bought a Stetson (generic type) straw and really don't like...
Carldelo, wow, thanks so much for the heads up! I did not know that! Thank you very much for the info.
I will definitely check out Worth and Worth and will let them work on any hat servicing I may need. Right now I am looking to have my old Churchill fixed up (needs to be reblocked, new...
I was born and raised in NYC but just recently have been getting into hats and it is a shame how many hat shops there used to be and are no longer.
I visited JJ and it was a nice old school feel, and the service was very good. I might go there to have a ribbon replaced and a hat re-blocked and...
I just won my first boater on eBay. It is a WRIGHTS - anyone know any history on this company?

Just won this vintage (hopefully) straw on eBay. Was wondering if anyone here had any info on WRIGHTS company?

GREAT hats!
I just scored my first Stetson Stratoliner on eBay last week. It is beautiful. And it was in near MINT condition. Got it for rather cheap too. Less than a $100! One of my best eBay wins!
Beautiful hat.
Man, I love women in vintage hats like that. Then again, I wish I could time travel back to the '20s and '30s. Of course I'd like to be able to change some political, economical, and social things too if I went back, but that's a whole other story!
The Stetson Stratoliner...
It does. Thank you very much for that info. Yes I notice in many films, and even stock footage men taking off their hats by the crown.
But definitely understand why you would try to correct that habit.
I'll have to be more conscious of that in the future when putting on or taking off my...
Is it that bad to take your hat off by the crown? I always felt taking it off by the brim ruins the straightness and stiffness of the brim that I like.
