Cool Thread!
I really enjoyed filing through this line this morning. Interesting thoughts, fun ideas. So I'll take a shot at it:
For a brief survey of history (American), try Don't Know Much About History by Kenneth Davis. The first book in a series of Don't Know Much About... books, all...
As of tonight...
My favorite drink is a Gin Rickey. Full days supply of Vitamin C in every drink!!! Okay, maybe not, but they're still mighty tasty.
Bottoms up,

Had the same problem in Safari
I had the same problem in Safari, so I went to Firefox, was able to see the entire website, found hats that I liked, and ordered two. Hoping beyond hope to get them soon, but based upon the support that PB gets from the members here, I anticipate being very...
I'm a rank amateur, but...
By no means am I an expert. In fact, I'm more of a lurker here than anything else. But I'll take a shot at answering your underlying question, and let the experts correct all of the mistakes.
As I understand it, both hats are supposed to be hand-woven in Guatemala...
Sadly, it is the Las Vegas way
Las Vegas is a town built on illusion, and thus continually reinvents itself. We see it time and again: the Landmark, the Dunes, the Stardust, the Desert Inn. I grew up here in Las Vegas, and at one time these were all "stars of the Strip." But nobody wants...
Sorry; I was shooting for good natured teasing. Clearly I shot wide of the mark. I spent 4 years in New Orleans, and my love for the South and its people is immeasurable.

Having grown up in Las Vegas, I remember that when on vacation I was always asked in which Hotel/Casino my father (a general surgeon) worked. Because I was then, as now, a smart-aleck, I always answered Caesars Palace!
Stay Well,

Ugh!
Now I am even more excited for the Panama I ordered from Panama Bob, to be hand blocked by Art. I guess excited is maybe not the right word. Apopleptic? Only 3 weeks in, but can't wait for my masterpiece. And, from all that I have seen, Art, you are truly an Art-ist!

As far as I'm concerned, there is only one hat shop in NO- Meyer the Hatter. Been in the same location for over 100 years. Perhaps RedPop will weigh in...
Have a great time in the Big Easy!

Okay, I'm not really new, but...
I still technically qualify (still a "New in Town").
Born in Chicago, but raised in Las Vegas since age one. Spent 4 years in Reno, and 4 in New Orleans (where I learned to love hats, and where my heart still resides). Both of my kids were born in New...
Based upon my VAST experience (HA)
I have 2 kids. Both are generally well behaved. Spanked each of them once. Tried timeout a time or two. What I learned is that each child is different and requires different rewards and punishments. Some require spanking, and others don't. To try to...
I'm all for supporting the Mom and Pop businesses, whatever they may be- not because I'm some hippie with an agenda, but because I find the personal attention that a Principal will provide outweighs the uniformity of the chain product. In the fed section, we talk about the great workmanship of...
I'm sooooo sorry!
I feel for you brother. I caught the bug last fall, and now 10+ vintage hats and several new hats later I think I've finally achieved homeostasis. I'm sure that there is a 12 step program out there for us.
Welcome to the Lounge. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a drink...
Sadly, no must see hat shops. Lots of good shows, good food, and good gaming though.
Enjoy your weekend in our fair city-weather should be nice.
Cheers,
RC
