Even less usually if you don't need the ultra fancy versions. The red buffalo plaid jackets go for peanuts and they look the part with denim and work boots imo.
and modern:
Yo dawg. I heard you like plaid.
The RJ Mackinaws look Ok. Rather buy a vintage jacket from Vintage Haberdashers. He always finds some great stuff and it's cheaper (and better) than most repros.
Hunting jackets, Canvas, jeep coats, wool plaid, blanket coats. Stuff like this.
Good news. Freddies of Pinewood have their 1940s cut back in stock. I thought they were gone forever!

I just got 1940s USN repros from a brand called Lutece Mfg. Co.
As far as I know they are about 13 oz selvedge denim. Certainly heavy enough for me. But the important part is the HIGH RISE and wide leg, buckle back.
On the downside they are Made in Thailand. But as long Gustin and the others...
I got some short jackets but I also hesitate about making rules for or against them. Fastuni once send me several jackets and all were beautiful...but too short. It just felt wrong. Depends on individual taste, posture, proportions, wide or slim trousers...
Nice stuff. I like the effort they put into this. About the price...well, we all know it won't be cheap to produce a niche item. Some buy slim fit for the same price or so I've heard.
If your really want this exact sweater it would be worth saving up for.

What about you, HBK? They have leather soles and captoes. Would you order them?
I would if I had a steady income at the moment.

 It was pointed out but in a much nicer way.
I am rather "pear shaped" myself (horrible expression but you know what I mean) and have a hard time finding wide legged trousers. It's not about being hyper manly. I just don't like how slim pants look on me.
So it's either vintage or...
