I've been away for almost a week, and there are a number of stories worthy of comment, but "The Bronx is singularly free of corruption? "
I know it's way too late, but I couldn't let that one go. This whole story stinks. I guess it only supports the theory that juries are only made up of...
I found the "Did Brooklyn Really Want to get Married?" column very interesting. Seems like neither side wanted to join together, but were forced to the aisle by outsiders?
FF, where did you order the new releases from? If you like them, I'll consider following suit.
Nice to see that Father Coughlin lost his mailing privileges - thank goodness he didn't have access to the internet...
Pitfall (1948) - Dick Powell as an insurance adjuster facing a midlife crisis, meets and falls for Mona Stevens (Lizabeth Scott), the girlfriend (Lizabeth Scott) of a man in prison for embezzlement. Raymond Burr plays a private detective employed by the insurance company, who also falls for...
I don't know why, but I've always been fascinated by the Automat. First time I ever saw one was in "That Touch of Mink", and I've wanted to try one ever since, but their time had long since passed.

Well thank you Lizzie, that is far more detailed than I could have asked for - but very much appreciated.
Now I feel justified in despising him as much as I do.
Now if the oft-mentioned Dragon Lady or HuShee ever reappear, I may have to reach out to you again...
Lizzie, if it's not too much to ask, can you give us a bit of background on Sandhurst?
A more despicable character in a comic strip is hard to imagine. But I don't go back with TATP far enough to know his story.
Been out of town for a week, but it sure was nice to come back to the Daily News - even though the site update made me wait an extra day!
Interesting show on Discovery over the weekend, "Hitler's American Battlefield", about the U-boat activity off the coast off the Carolinas - some of which we...
Thanks - 27 inches and 70 mph gusts locally here on the coast, but it hit on a Saturday, with plenty of notice. Lit a fire, had some food and cocktails and just rode it out. Couple of hours of clean up yesterday, but no harm done.
