Hello Everyone,
A few items for sale for the small to medium sized gent. All items from a smoke-free home.
Navy Blue 100% wool commando sweater made in USA by DSCP with military contract number. V-neck. I bought it new, wore it around the house a few times. Just a little short for me. $30...
Nice jacket! Looking good.
Those photos show the color very well. The color of my two-month old LW Ryder looks the same under a little bit of lighting.
Update on the way!
Good work on the Ryder purchases everyone. My Ryder is now a bit more than two months old. It is breaking in well, the grain is coming out but there is a still a ways to go in that department.
As soon as I can find someone to take photos in the daylight, I'll post an...
I would say that the photos on the LW website are color accurate -- the first photo especially. The photo of the jacket's back has a bit more light and brings out the reddish-tone. Perhaps the color changes over time but, for now, mine is brown like a milk-chocolate bar. It is much less red...
After two weeks of wear, I'm very happy with the size. The bubble back is gone, the sleeves have shortened due to creasing in the sleeves and the jacket fits well over a commando sweater.
If you are a 38S, I don't think the 36S Ryder is for you unless you want a very slim fit and only want...
Hi Bruce,
The 36 Ryder measures:
20" armpit to armpit (remember that the hide is thick)
24" base of collar to hem
17" shoulder to shoulder
25" shoulder to cuff
For the record, a 36S suit jacket fits me like a glove. The jacket is has room in it for medium sweater and would still be...
Ahh...thanks gentleman. The Ryder was a screaming deal on the LW sale page. I simply couldn't pass it by.
I was just a bit concerned about the odd buckling around the middle of the back. I can't imagine wearing a size smaller without damaging my internal organs. So, I guess I should start...
There doesn't seem to be much discussion of the Lost Worlds Ryder so I figured I would start a thread, add some photos and perhaps be of some use to others. I apologize in advance for the horrendous cell phone photos. I'll take some proper photos first chance I get. :eusa_doh:

Received a US Coast Guard sweater today from Mitts Knitts. It is quite nice, soft, not as scratchy as my green commando which is also a size 36. The Mitts Nitts is slimmer, trimmer and shorter, though I bet it will stretch out some.
Overall, I'm quite pleased as I couldn't find a navy...
Steve,
Are there particular styles you are looking for? For example, you could browse eBay for a vintage size 38 real-deal peacoat which would be anything but puffy. A Filson Mackinaw cruiser in a 36 could fit you well. I could probably list out a few others depending on what you'd like to...
Forget small medium large and buy by chest size, which I'm guessing might be a 36. Typically men's small coats will be too large for a 36 but just right for a 38. Department stores usually sell a variety of new coats in even chest sizes.
Another vote for the peacoat dating thread. It helped me figure out that I prefer a post-WWII coat and I was able to find one at the right price on EBay!
Ah, mitts nitts is a good find. They have exactly what I wanted -- navy blue wool vneck without the name and badge tabs. Great price too! I'll probably order one up tonight.
Mr. Chasseur,
I have been looking for a blue commando sweater, though it is difficult to find them in the US without the nylon name plate on the chest. Do you know if the offering from Trancee Militaire are wool? Do you know how the sizes (e.g. "6 and") translate into measurements?
I may...
