Thanks, Tommy. I guess it just takes some time to get used to it. I'm fiddling between a C and diamond on top. It's fun to start with a blank slate but the first time is still daunting.

Thanks, RJR. I'm getting closer and the pics from Fed in a fedora above are helping me too. I'm putting more side dent into it and it seems to be working. More pics later.
I need some help. The CD is my first open crown hat and I'm having difficulty getting it to look right on me. I think it looks too tall from some angles. I'm experimenting but I'd appreciate loungers opinions on what creases I should try. I liked Konadog's bash on this thread, but I ain't never...
Not to brag, but I got to see Keith play with The Who before he died. It's still number one on my list of great concerts.
I only had one Dobbs back then and I stored it on a hatrack, so now we're back on topic.
I hate to post my photo online too, but since I've joined the lounge I'm already up to five or six selfies. They assured me everyone just looks at the hat anyway.
It sounds like you are off to a good start.

I should've known fountain pens would be a natural fit for this group. I've collected pens much longer than I have hats. I have a stub nib Sheaffer that I use for signatures because it makes even my bad handwriting look like calligraphy. I'll get some pics after the holidays since I keep most...
Thanks! It was a very under appreciated car. People always mistook it for an MG, but it actually came out first. The '67 was the sweet spot of the model. It had the most power and didn't get the higher roof line and safety padding that detracted from the classic lines.
The roadster model...
This is mine. It's a 1967 Datsun 2000 roadster. I got it in '74. This is the actual car although I confess it hasn't been running in two years. It also spent several years in my dad's garage before being restored.
