Nick Horween suggests that since they treat their CXL with neatsfoot oil you should too. IMO the best product out there w neatsfoot oil is Saphir Renovateur. Amazing stuff,
If you have decided you must have a Goodwear product (and it sounds like you have), my suggestion is the Californian Ventura - magnificent garment.
I ordered one, waited patiently (the stories of those that had their orders cancelled are classic) and got it in hand. Truly a work of art but...
Certainly making me a more "critical" shopper (and I'm betting I'm not the only one based on the number of "new" coats listed on the Aero for sale page that would appear to be returns....). While Aero makes a wonderful product, sizing issues, mismatched hides, etc. are that much more difficult...
What were Will and Amanda thinking letting this thing out of their shop:

I have black FQHH from Horween - got it from Nick Horween to have JC make a jacket for me (back in the day when JC was a little more "accomodating"). From what I understand it is enough to make at least one jacket.
I'm with Griff on this - I think the fact that you have pulled the waist straps tight accentuates the issue. I also don't intend to offend but for my tastes the coat is too short and too loose.
I guess you are right. I thought it had both a yoke shoulder and a half-belt but I went back and looked at the pics and it looks like a regular half-belt. Wasn't it Gilda Ratner (as Roseanne Roseannadanna) that said "Never mind..."
I noticed a listing for an Aero Californian on ebay - that is a model that isn't listed on the Aero site but is shown on the AeroUSA site. Looks like a half-belted Highwayman with modified cuffs. Anyone know, does it fit like a Highwayman or a Half-Belt?
I certainly haven't been at it as long as HD - and I never sent them any of my artwork (good thing too because my stuff wouldn't be hanging in their foyer if you know what I mean...) - but I have no complaints about their turn-around time.
I know it is a delicate subject on this board but my...
At the end of the day we are all saying the same (or a very similar) thing - Aero offers a number of different style jackets and they cut many of them differently. So the half-belt or the cafe racer will be slimmer cuts than the Highwayman or Bootlegger. The confusion comes in when we layer...
I think a distinction that Mark has recently added to his eBay site (far too late for many people, including me...) is worth noting, namely that Aero jackets are made to order, not made to measure. And their interpretation/translation of your "order" is, in my experience at least, generous...
