Special Hangers for Heavy/Expensive Leather Jackets?

I just bought some hangers for my overcoats. Width is the hardest thing to find. I bought a few temporary hangers from target: they had nice wide white plastic hangers, although I would like a little more thickness, they at least won't distort the shoulders as much (especially if I can find...

That grey /green coat really is nice. Superb cut, and great colour.

    Vintage belted back shop coat?

Greatcoats of the US Marine Corps have similar looking cuffs; not french cuffs, as these are stitched down, but fancy looking. Other US military forces do not have cuffs like that, typically being plain, or braided in some officers. This isn't a greatcoat (WW2 was thick wool, later vietnam are...

Were there no 6'2" people born before the 1950's?

I'm 6"2, 43-44chest, but long bodied. I usually buy 36"-32" pants (need to shed some pounds). US14 shoes... for shoes things are much better now than they used to be; back in school I always seemed to be one size larger than the biggest you could easily find. I have long arms too, which can...

Hey Spitfire, Stiff upper lip! I don't know what their overall quality is like, but Replicaters.com say that they will soon be offering RAF WW2 greatcoat replicas. You could maybe send them an email and see if they were planning on using the same supplier, although they say they do their own...

WW1 Peacoats? Need Help identifying please

The USAF coat looks like it has a white tab at the top of the collar. This is where the size usually is. It would be unusual for it just to be "L". Some of the US Marines coats had just S/M/L/XL sizes, but I have not seen it in army or USAF. here's one on ebay that shows typical period labels...

WW1 Peacoats? Need Help identifying please

Price depends on size and condition. The blue coat will typically be starting around $30-40 maybe, for something that is in good condition (ie. very little to no visible mothing etc). I have not seen one of these USAF coats above 41XL (41 chest, eXtra Long), but then I haven;t been looking for...

WW1 Peacoats? Need Help identifying please

Technically, these are referred to as "greatcoats". The blue coat is post WW2 US Airforce enlisted (non-officer) overcoat. There's a good guide here: http://usafflagranks.com/usaf_overcoat_topcoat.html ... although they don't actually show you the enlisted coat, the cut is generally the same...

So here's a picture of me in the trench. I'm guessing it is about the same age as the houndstooth/plaid coat above. My favorite at the moment is this 1950's greatcoat. I like the styling, but with the dull less-showy buttons. I'd like to find a decent grey, grey-blue, or blue greatcoat in a...

    Show Us Your OVERCOATS

I've been lurking for a while, but finally signed up, and here is my first post. I've always liked long coats, but only ever had a single black overcoat at a time (I've had a couple now). However, an older friend recently sent me a couple of his coats that no longer fit / he didn't need as he...
