Yea David,I'm afraid I was the guy bidding against you if that Lee is a 71/2 and from how good it looks I wish I would have won it. I gave up and bought a Capas Hats Plus Panama Boater. I am very happy with it and would recommend it to those of us with big heads.
If you can settle for a sportcoat, for now, Ebay is the place to pick up Harris Tweed. The past week I've got 4 sportcoats of differing patterns and haven't paid more than $50 for any of them.(Three were $20)
Deerskin for $24.95
If you want the deerskin style like sproily and thunder have pictured the best place is Yellowstone Gloves. You have to order by phone,so you have the luxury of getting the specifics. They are only $24.95 plus tax and worth every cent. Their site shows you how to measure...
I believe the waist should be at or just below the navel. I know depending on the cut of the pants, they may be made to rest at the hips, but I only buy pants that allow me to wear them at my navel. This article is stupid and was written by someone trying to appear young and hip. Levi's were...
You're right. I realized after I posted. I don't have a picture of my jacket right now,but I'll post one when I get the means to.Thank you for having the guts to point that out.
I recently got a fine camel hair sportcoat at Goodwill and I am now in love with all things camel hair. There maybe an existing thread about this but I'd love to see everyones camel hair sportcoats and overcoats. Show em' off.
Most of the photos you see in the 20's to 50's that were taken in the south in the summer the men without their jackets could care less if anyone saw their suspenders or not. People that get upset about those things never spent a summer of 100 plus degree tempatures without air conditioning.
You didn't happen to just sell those on Ebay did you? I just bought a pair that looks similar to those. However, yours look much worse than the picture on the auction. If that wasn't your auction I'm sorry to disrespect your loafers. I myself am fond of them.
Gene,I've got the black version of those wigtips right there and I purchased them new in the early 90's. Mine are made in the U.S.A. also. I was in Penney's today and I don't remember seeing that style available any longer.
Papa Got some brand new shoes!
I broke down and bought a brand new pair of shoes today(not at Goodwill). I went to the Florsheim outlet store and found a pair of shoe I'd never seen before. I did'nt like them at first but they quickly grew on me.
They're called Killian by Stacy Adams. They...
What kind of pants do you put the 'Batchelor Buttons","Logger Buttons" on.
Do you just put them casuals or only khakis or do you even put them on the nice trousers you pair with a blazer. I have a pair of Goodwill bought Pery Ellis slacks that are super high waisted and I want to wear them with...
I just won a pair of modern Bass Monkstap split toe shoes and I got to wondering the history of the Monkstrap shoe. How far do the go back and all other such info? If you want to include pics of your Monkstraps go ahead. This will be my first pair and I really like the look and style of them.
I go solid and pattern..
To be on the safe side, I tend to pair a solid with a pattern to prevent it all from becoming to busy.
Example: A dark brown jacket with a light yellow/brown tweed or a light black/white check with midnight blue/black trousers.

I combine alot...
I only have two suit sets and I save those for formal occasions. I usually go light jacket/dark trouser occasionally but more often go classic dark jacket/light trousers. I think it's more of an eye for matching thing more than anything else. I got a lot of combo ideas from...
