    Budget, i.e., "Econo" leather jackets

I ordered their Wainwright jacket last Friday, their on sale for 70 down from 120. I had to send it back since I ordered it to big and the new one will be here Monday. I just checked the site and their sold out of Large and XL in the A2 so I signed up to be notified when they get more in.

    Budget, i.e., "Econo" leather jackets

I got one of the Air Force Landing Leathers A2s off Amazon 7 years ago that's still going strong. Their priced right now at 119.99 and free shipping in medium or large. If you want to go that route.

    L. L. Bean A-2 history time line?

Thanks for the information Tom. I saw the 3 piece back, made in USA jacket, on ebay and wondered about the quality of the later ones.

    L. L. Bean A-2 history time line?

I was wondering that myself last night because I'd like to find a 44 with Thinsulate since my 42 is a little tight.

    L. L. Bean A-2 history time line?

I got the impression the add is newer than 78 also, because of the prices. That would've been a pretty penny back in 78. To me at least.

    L. L. Bean A-2 history time line?

I just ran across an item on Golden Bear Sportswears blog dated 12/18/12 that shows an add for all 3 of LL Bean's jackets. It's titled Golden Bear for LL Bean Circa 1978.

    L. L. Bean A-2 history time line?

The only negatives I've heard, and I can't remember what forum it was, concerned the newer Turkish made jackets with the black inner linings and how they would come apart and separate. I've seen some on ebay and while the outside looks decent the lining looks as if it's been thru a shredder.

    L. L. Bean A-2 history time line?

Both of mine are the 1 piece back, USA made of imported goatskin and I might be wrong but from what I've seen on ebay I'm of the opinion that the Flying Tigers were the earliest, but that's just a wild guess.

    L. L. Bean A-2 history time line?

My size 44 non insulated says Flying Tigers Jacket on the label and has a Scovill zipper. The 42 only says LL Bean Freeport Maine on the label and has the YKK zip.

    L. L. Bean A-2 history time line?

I've gotten 2 off ebay within the last month. A size 42 with Thinsulate and a 44 without. Both cost less than a hundred dollars including shipping. In my opinion the early versions in numbered sizes, before the move to an offshore maker, are some of the best jackets out there. I've also got an...

    Alpha jackets - Frankfurt, Germany

I liked the look of the Breitling Alpha's on ebay, until I saw the logo splashed on the back. Didn't care for it on the front either since it would appear like my name was Breitling.

This or That: Eastman or Rainbow Country

The Eastman looks sturdier to me and I like the way the cuffs lay.

QMI USAF B-10...anyone know this jacket?

If I buy it'll probably be from QMI. Spearhead has what looks to be the same jacket for $229 and with shipping it brings the total to $257.

QMI USAF B-10...anyone know this jacket?

What a coincidence. I put one of these on my watch list last night and looked around the web for some reviews but didn't find any.

I like how you show the sizes right up front, so there's no wasted time looking only to find that the jacket is not in your size. Good luck, I wish you well.
