Los Angeles or San Francisco: Which city is more vintage, more Golden Era, more noir?
I love San Francisco. I've only been twice, but I would move there in a heartbeat. Every street, every building, every object just seems to ooze history. My travel budget has been slashed since the second kid came along, but I'm hoping to be back next year.- Ace Fedora

My first true vintage find was in the early-Internet, pre-eBay era when I scored a number of detective pulps from an online dealer. Taking the train because it was cheaper than flying. I haven't been on a train since 1998, during an airline strike. I loved every minute of it -- from seeing the backside of cities to talking with strangers in the dome car. Now? Almost twice the price of a plane ticket, and much less...- Ace Fedora
