What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Randall, Thanks! :) I am probably wrong on the post 1950s Tonak dating. I am interested in the early transition period from JHS to Tonak (late 1940s to late 1950s). Here is an early Tonak "Formerly Hückel" "Zephyr Seal Velour"...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Randall, The info is not exactly correct. :) It's a Tonak who were J. Hückel ´s Söhne up to WWII. Your hat is possibly 1970s. SELCO also sold Tonak under the Hückel brand name in the same time period. The Liner logo on your hat is based on an old J. Hückel ´s Söhne / JHS design. Here...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Stefan, Yes, I remember this beauty! The "Corona" could be a STECO Velour. The blue on the "Corona" piping appears more Bavarian blue. I seem to recall something similar so I will have to some searching Update: It's very similar to this "NEUHEIT" "SPITZENKLASSE" "EXTRA FEIN"...

"Corona" "Deutsche Wertarbeit / German Craftsmanship) Velour possibly 1930s. No known factory marks but the blue and white diagonal liner piping might point to a Bavarian hat company. This Velour has a great look and the overall condition is excellent. I found this Velour back in 2019.

Matt, Thanks! Yes, I was surprised to find it. It had a thick spacer behind the sweatband so I asked the seller to check for a paper label. Turns out it fits perfect too. I got very lucky with the B.B. Ascot and this one.

Nathan, Thanks! I found an AI based software that reads old German handwriting (works fairly well) but it had a very hard time with this postcard. :) https://www.transkribus.org/old-german-scripts

    Post New Hats Here!

Stefan, Thanks again! I was surprised when I found this one from a German seller. The location of the shop that sold it was not far from Nový Jičín / Neutitschein. I was thinking it was in good condition but when Matt took a look, he said it was in fine condition.
