    Well we can not focus too much on weight when regarding fabrics since there must be other factors involved in draping. Fabrics must have been made entirely different.

    Someone with quite long arms must have had that suit judging from the jacket! And what is "demob" as they keep labeling things? It is great at least when posts in the forum like this one are labeled small, then they always get my attention. Good for me it's too short.

    I am having a hard time understanding this thread. What is causing you all this depression? Why can you not walk down the streets smiling to your fellow citizens? While they are badly dressed, most people are nice. Why would you want to stay inside and hide?

    Only way I see a 36 coat fit a 40 chest would be if you had only your shirt under it. And that would mean a jacket would have another size for it to fit you.

Shopping in markets was more common to, as the first post mentioned. More specialized stores: the fruit market, the butcher, etc. But...
