NY is also on my list of places I really want to see some day and not only because of the art deco skyscapers.
Besides do you know whole cities or such with a bigger part built in art deco? I heard that Reims in France was rebuild in the 1930s with much art deco and many buildings are still...
A fascinating museum I'd really like to see. A shame that I am living too far away from it.
@Hadley The villa of Hearst is amazing, especially with the river nearby. I like those kind of houses even while they originally are not from the "Golden Era" (at least in Europe they are at many places...
I was rereading lately some book of my youth. Die Reise nach Südamerika from Alexander von Humboldt. I am not sure what the name of a translation in English is, but I think there was more than one made of his books. This book based upon his diary and it is intresting to read. Some time ago I...
One of my favs is the Villa Esche in Chemnitz. I once saw it nearly ruined in the early 1990s and after the restoration it became a very nice museum and place for events. As a big fan of art nouveau and van de Velde this villa is a treasure trove in itself.

If it is the one set in modern days with this organisation hunting jekyll, then yap, seen some parts of it. But as said by others, it was really strange and sometimes silly. It wasn't very intriguing or criminalistic or something else. Just some pseudo-scientistic garbage and strange characters.
Congratulations to this nice catch. It is even one with the more seldom black enemal numeral dial. I know some guys who would be envious for one in this very good condition. :eusa_clap Wear it proudly and imho the Bagley is one of the models who look more prominent on the wrist than other...
Absolutely stunning!
I wish that I could be a guest there.
Regarding time warps, luckily here in Europe many older buildings and even complete streets survived in the cities. I think there is in general a better appreciation for these older things and then some parts of the cities just...
Unkown Identity with Liam Neeson. A nice action-thriller for a short enjoyable evening. Some scenes and the story feeled like "seen before". Parts reminded me about Frantic, Bourne Identity and Mission Impossible to name a few. The mix was OK, the actors played well enough and I wasn't bored for...
Yeah but why not discuss a bit and share informations about the models? We also discuss all the other vintage pieces sometimes in detail, even movies and it's also not a movie forum.
Cool looking watch. But I am not sure if the case is an original Bulova case or the dial was originally meant to be in that case. The edge and minute markers are rhomb-shaped while the case opening is a normal rectangle. It does not fit completely and that seems not typical to me because the...

Some nice video clips of the flight, thought I add them. I found them while I was searching for airship travel in general.
Ps. does someone know maybe a nice book...
I just wanted to add and show it because it is a real eyecatcher. I am fond about the streamline designs of that era. The Sheaffer Balance is one of those amazing things that always reminds me about cigars, zeppelins and airships but the Skyline looks like a rocket, a big torpedo or a high-speed...
A lots of changed since 1996 on the "Museumsinsel" with the different museums there. So it's really worth another visit. ;) Oh and in the area nerby, the Dom is still there but you won't see "Honnies Lampenladen" (former Palace of the Republic) on the other side of the street.
Watch companies of the good old days? :eusa_clap As Jamespowers mentioned, there is Hamilton a good choice (OK, I have to say that as a Hamilton collector ;)). It was one of the best american watchmakers in exactly that period you look for. A lots of nice models and depending on what you want it...
Finally I got a matching pencil, at least matching the style of the pen. I am not sure if it is the correct one to the pen model, because I have seen pencils with slightly differences in the clip.
I have this Ross for quite a while but after wearing it lately, just wanted to make a pic of it and also maybe find out something about the previous owner.
Some collectors may not like engravings, but for me it gaves a vintage watch a "face" and makes me always wondering about who they were...
Thanks Qirrel. I got all of them in the bay over the last year(s). Some of them were real bargains, but none cost me more than $20-25 including shipping. Most times international shipping is more expensive than the pieces.
That are my only ones with a matching tie clip, also damascened style:
13.7 cm long, the cap ca. 1.2 cm in diameter and the pen itself ca. 1 cm. So I think it is one of the thinner models. Thank you very much for the info.
