    What are you wearing today??

You know, if you were to take a half-step to your left, there would be NOTHING in that photo (aside from color) to suggest that pic wasn't taken in 1933!

    greatest movie ever made?????

Ladies and Gentlemen; For "Greatest Movie Ever Made", I submit for your consideration Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings", parts 1-3, screened back to back as they were meant to be viewed. Long? Without a doubt. Brilliant? ABSOLUTELY!! LOTR is SO great that we may be able to forgive...

My new Grafters tan leather brogue Derby boots

Put them on, (carefully) make your way to the nearest sidewalk, and scuff the soles on the sidewalk. That will rough them up enough to keep your feet on the ground until those new soles get some wear on them. Until then, be careful on carpet-covered stairs!

    What are you wearing today??

The day after Halloween and, as usual, no trick or treaters. I guess that's what I get for living down a long, dark, country road. They must have visions of maniacs with chain saws or something. Probably a good thing since I didn't even remember it was Halloween until I was on my way home...

    Fedoras and Tees/Fedoras and Jeans

Back in the '30s and '40s, men wore hats with everything....work clothes, dress clothes, whatever. You have to remember that men often had work fedoras and dress fedoras. My grandfather's work fedora was a very beat up, lightweight, fur felt fedora without a liner. If he stepped over the...

    Bogarts Watch

OK, I KNOW I am going to get torpedoed for this, but that just doesn't strike me as a very masculine watch. In fact, it looks like the watch my Mother used to wear. Somehow it just doesn't fit with the "Man's man" image of Bogie....[huh] <NOMEX undies are ON!>

Stetson's 80s Indiana Jones official hat quality?

Yes. The fur felt editions had the liner mentioned above. Interestingly enough, my fur felt '84-vintage Stetson Indy came with a tear-drop crown bash and a leather sweat. Over the years, it shrunk, tapered badly and bled through the ribbon after it got wet. But, I was emotionally attached to...

    Plain-toed, brown, leather-soled Oxford?

The biggest reason I would hesitate is that is IS an opinion, and, therefore, subjective. But, since you asked, this opinion hinges on two items: Comfort and quality. I wore the shoes for a couple of days, and they almost crippled me. Maybe I am spoiled by wearing Aldens and Rockports, but...
