I'm still getting used to the Milan straw--this is my first straw. That fishiness for me is the stiffness of the straw, and the lack of give that I am used to from my felts. But it is light and airy...
Excellent silverbelly! But you're killing me...still waiting on mine. Day 6 of the 5-10 day arrival window. I'll be sure to bash mine with your photos on the computer--great job.
I've often planned to go, but never followed through...and I imagine some committed to the era might still hold to those traditions about seasonal fashion. Maybe this September when it comes 'round again--sounds like fun, and a visit with a fellow Lounger would be great! I'll remember to keep my...
Breaking all the rules in CA...
I don't know that anyone follows those seasonal standards any longer, CC, especially not those of us in California, where the weather is considerably milder year 'round than in the northeast, for instance, or Europe. My understanding is that many of the...
My mistake...I thought you were selling because it was too small, but a closer look at your classifieds post indicates that it's too big. Gotta read more closely!
That's what I'm hoping to find out any day now, Doublegun...although in Silverbelly. Mine should be here any day now...but several Loungers have indicated the Campdraft is a fine summer lid. My Tawny Fawn Fed (very similar in color, and I think in felt weight) did relatively well in the...
Bob, that's a gorgeous whippet...congratulations. It's one of the hats I aspire to...if only there weren't so much competition in my head size!
Hope you were able to climb out of the bay unharmed! :D
rlk, very nice color on that Stetson!
Viper Man, your Fed IV in Moonstone is very tempting...if it were a 59, I'd jump on it. But I'm afraid it would be a bit too small for me...my 59 started slightly big but with wear now fits perfectly. Were you expecting the 58 to be a bit bigger?
Maguire, here's a bad, at-the-computer photo of me and my buddy Sam Adams, trying to look summery for you.
A lot of Loungers swear by Miller Hats for their summer lids, which is where I recently purchased this one. They have a number of Milan weave straw hats, and the quality seems quite good...
Nice job, Maguire...looks great. But hatless over the summer? Isn't that one of the best times to wear a hat, to protect from sun exposure? Maybe you just need a summer hat...:D
