    What's for Dinner?

Here's an interesting idea! I found this blog where the author buys old recipe boxes from the 40s through the 60s and cook the food according to the old recipe. I remember a lot of these dishes from my childhood. Part of the fun is seeing what is the next dish or what other thing is in the box...

    Doc Savage

Any fand here? I like the mindless adventure, exotic locales, and airships, autogyros, machine pistols, etc. I started reading them in the 70s and I still pick one up once in a while.

    Best city for vintage living

I would vote for Kansas City, I was in the same boat 4 years ago, had to relocate, one of the reasons I choose this area was it's rich 20s and 30s history and the ammount of surviving architecture from that period.

    The Untouchables TV show

We know that the TV show is pretty heavily fictionalized. How do you rate the cloths, guns, cars, sets and language? I've seen some obivious plastic Thompsons (episode "Ma Barker and her Boys") and a few other mistakes. What do you think?

Myths of the Golden Era -- Exploded!

I thik there is a lot of truth in that statement. I was aquainted with a former member of Parliment, he told me that there was a feeling in British ploitical circles that war in 1938 or 1939 would bankrupt Britian and cause the loss of the Empire. Of course this is what happened.

    Hindenburg Photos

Thank you very much for posting this. My mother as a small child and lived on a tiny family dairy farm right outside of Lakehurst. She and her father saw the Hindenburg on it's "final" approach in 1937. She said it was a beautiful thing to see flying. She said my grandfather cried when he...
