    Quadruple Pleated Back 1930s Sportcoat

It's too bad that he left. He was a wonderful resource for everyone here, even those, like myself, who mostly lurk. It's better for him, though, if it's going to remove some frustration from his life. I actually think it's a bigger shame that he removed all of his photos, since we can no longer...

Wonderful 1930's belted back single breasted jacket

I'm watching this one with great interest.

    Show us your British suits

I agree. I've got a suit made by Burton in the 40s which has a jacket almost identical to that brown one. I've never really been satisfied with it. The proportions of the two-button jacket make it much more elegant.

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Just finished Miller's Crossing. The costumes were pretty bad. And the hats were especially terrible. But it was a decent movie nonetheless.

    Show us their suits

Reminds me a bit of Brian Donlevy's suit from The Great McGinty, though I think Hartnell's is better.

Wunderbar 1930s German Suit -- will go for a high price

It really is fantastic. I should have snatched it up while there was still a BIN option. $350 is going to seem like a steal, considering what it might go for now.

    That's some cut.

Amazing 30's/40's Tweed Sportcoat In Unusual Color

Thanks. Can't wait to see it in the flesh. It'll be a week or two before I have it in my hands, though, being in Japan and all.

Amazing 30's/40's Tweed Sportcoat In Unusual Color

Yeah, I snagged it. I'm pretty happy about that.

    Beautiful 3-piece DB suit

Yeah, they will do that. As I live in Japan, I should really try to see whether I can't find some of those reproductions. I still haven't found a decent vintage shop yet. But I also don't get down to Tokyo much.

    Beautiful 3-piece DB suit

The seller removed the BIN option from the Austrian (thanks, Flat Foot Floey) suit. Seems he thinks he can get more than $350 for it. And it occurs to me that he's right.

If Marc can't, I surely can. I've got my eyes on those indeed.

    Beautiful 3-piece DB suit

Yeah, I've got my eye on that one, too. As nice as the German suit is, I prefer the fabric on the one you bought. I'd also need to alter it, which increases its price somewhat.

I submitted an offer for it, myself, not expecting it to be snatched up so quickly. It's a shame, too. If the measurements prove...

    Joe McGlynn: Vintage Menswear GOD

Seconded. And I would kill for those pants. The pattern and drape is divine (and he got them for thirty bucks and they belonged to Rock Hudson — I think the succession of 'ands' here could be endless).

    Hair cuts

I actually like that he grew his hair out. I almost see it as reaction to America's forced political propriety. Half of politics is image, after all. The other half is business.

    British 1940's DB Suit Size 38, CC41

This one went for a pretty penny: $487.60. That's much more than I'd have expected it to sell for.

Amazing 30's/40's Tweed Sportcoat In Unusual Color

Given the size. I'm a 36, and the chest and length are perfect for me. But I've found that 18" is about as far as I can push the shoulders before they start to become too much. It might just be my build and dimensions, though, preventing me from pulling off such width. It's a pretty incredible...

Amazing 30's/40's Tweed Sportcoat In Unusual Color

I was hoping that through some act of god, this would go unnoticed by no one but myself. Now it's being advertised. Drat! That said, the shoulders are really wide, if the measurements prove correct. I've been getting a bit more adventurous lately with exaggerated shoulder dimensions lately, but...
