For Sale Aero STF Premier Bootlegger sz 40 Vicenza Seal Italian Horsehide Jacket

    Leather trenchcoat

This is my compromise to the "trench coats make you look like a lonely basement taxidermist" problem. More of an English walking coat, esp good for layering tweed vests, bulky sweaters, etc. to help soften the look.

Collar of Vintage Leather Jacket Cracking - Causes and Remedies

I say it depends on storage conditions after it was used. Leather simply has a shelf life, and that life is affected by how it was used. I for instance have picked up a new-old-stock 70s schott perfecto in Palm Springs, that, because it was stored unworn in zero humidity, looked amazing, but...

Buying from Aero Leather in the US

Ordering a bootlegger recently cost me about 80 bucks in shipping all told, and another 70 in customs. Scotland to VT. Ordering from Thurston cost me like 40? But amazingly, the Aero order came 3 days after shipping, the Thurston about 8.

    Some like it hot-I don't...

Man, I've lived in every zone in CA, Palm Springs, Humboldt County, San Fran and Berkeley (vastly different tho miles apart). Let me tell you, its NICE weather in all of those places compared to the hills of VT. Right now its 90% average humidity, which makes the 85-90 degree days seem like...

    North Sea Clothing jumpers

I have one of their submariner roll necks I've never worn. The quality is great, but I have so many sweaters living in VT I've just not gotten around to it. May put it in classifieds one of these days. You and I are the same size, it seems. Mine is a large in navy, and the fit is form fitting...

Vintage Military Wool Overcoats: Storage & Care?

Here in VT I store the woolens in canvas bags (hanging for coats, stacking for sweaters). I use the mega thick, wooden ( same as I use for heavy leather jackets) hangers for heavier coats to preserve the shoulder and prevent hanger rub. I have never seen the effective properties of cedar wood...

vintage half belt jacket relining advice

Ahoy fellows, I recently picked up this baby-good condition field and stream (Gordon & Ferguson) advertised as 40s era, suede jacket. It needs some rip repair and reconditioning. Was thinking of sending it to arrow leather care. Any folks have previous experience? While there I was...

Leather jackets on TV shows - Goat or Lamb?

lately I've been watching old episodes of "highway patrol" from the 50s, just to spot the civy leather "average joe" jackets, like the one in this episode- http://youtu.be/hgaTTeYDRgA

Another new peacoat. I think I have a problem.

Nice! it never hurts to have a good selection for strong rotation. I have 3, all from the early 60s, 2 officer, 1 normal, that I wear over work clothing for the long Vermont winters. If I didn't rotate 3, I'd have already worn through 1 and ruined it with daily use.
