Hi,
I run an Etsy shop that specializes in 50s/60s tailored clothing here:

Found here. Almost positive it is 1940s, but couldn't find any Union Tag to confirm.
Hi All,
Longtime lurker here, sometime occasional poster. My real love is mid-century American Ivy League (I know this forum is geared more toward the 30s and 40s) but I also play around with elements of classic British style. I run an Etsy shop here...
Hi all,
Relatively new poster here, long time vintage collector, mostly 50s and 60s stuff.
I am wary of measuring myself and submitting the measurements to an "online custom tailor" in Nepal or Thailand. Too much can get lost in the process, and I can't really blame the tailor for not...
Yesterday:
Gunmetal grey 60s two-button sharkskin, blue tab collar shirt, black grey and red 2" tie.
Today:
Grey and Green late 50s one-button sharkskin with nicely textured fabric, Towncraft sand-colored tab collar, Black, white and beige repp tie.
1500 bucks for a perfectly ordinary 1960s suit?!! Is this site for real?! They have some nice stuff, and I know from experience that the price of good vintage varies from city to city, but 1500 for a Warren Sewell suit is absurd.
Tailor? All suits pictured were thrifted. Good alterations tailor in town though. When I first started going I had trouble convincing him I actually wanted what I wanted. He kept saying he wouldn't do 7.5 in bottoms, but finally I convinced him. Now he remembers me and my friend from the...
Recent photos of me and a friend before going out to a 60s night. The Five Aces played, a great band from Glasgow. I'm on the right in a teal blue 60s poplin two button with peaked lapels, short side vents, 8in bottoms.
Later on in Glasgow. Vintage late 50s navy gabardine 3-button...
I had a bad experience with an online tailor making a suit for me. Sort of turned me off to the whole idea. I submitted alot of photos and verbal description and it still ended up wrong. I'd stick with the tailors that others on this board are pleased with. I've recently ordered some online...
Those suits look really cool. The one you call a 60s 3-button actually has the lapel shape of a 30s suit, but that looks really cool when paired with the jean-cut trousers.
your husband looks really really familiar.
I think my parents find it amusing. My mother was my age in the mid 60s and my Dad was my age during the late 50s. They get a kick out of Thom Browne. so when the see me in a 1960s suit with a 60s shirt and a 60s tie, my mom will usually say 'your father used to have stuff just like...
I wear a pair of vintage Ronsirs and love them. LOVE them. I loved them so much I ordered a spare pair of new ones from the website. I haven't needed to put lenses in the non-vintage pair, but from what I can tell just from handling them, the material and quality is not as good. The tortoise...
Either gonna do Mytailor or Jantzen. You can get them made on the Brooks Bros Website. http://www.brooksbrothers.com/selectshirts/selectshirts.tem
127 bucks a shirt, but they don't use measurements. I'll use that as a last resort, if nothing else goes well. I'm looking to get a club...
Agreed. However, the guy in the Hardy Aimes photo has pants that are high by todays mainstream standards. The American look around the same period (which influenced the English style, early Mods wore Ivy League and shopped at the Ivy Shop) might have had turn-ups on the trousers.
Thom is...
And where did you find them? Club collar shirts are becoming an obsession for me. I love the way they look pinned, with a knit tie, the intersection of Mod and Ivy League. I'm looking to hopefully get a few made, maybe even one with a tab fastening. Mytailor.com does them. Are they a...
