BTW, I think we've hit on something else here... the look is a matter of proportions. It's been pointed out that brim widths are more or less standardized... REGARDLESS of hat size. As it happens, I wear a 7 3/4, and if I can find one, 7 7/8 or 8 . A 2.5" brim is going to look very different...- Hanover Fiste

I stand corrected !!! Now that I think about it harder, I have seen him in the inauguration topper ( IMHO he looks a bit uncomfortable in it... and it also looks like it's too small!), and in the hats that are part of his Navy dress uniform.
