Who was defending the Japanese here? I didn't see anyone cheering... more pointing out that some dirty deals were brokered by the 'Good' guys for some pretty dirty information... lot of very bad people walked on thanks to 'heroes' who coveted the vile fruit rather than doing what was right. But...
To amplify this comment... most of our knowledge of the breaking strain of living limbs comes from Unit 731... it could actually be argued that, without the data from that project, the Japanese would have faced something akin to Nuremberg... which they didn't... they brokered a better deal with...
