Here's a Korean Marine field jacket. I think it's a size Large. I normally wear a 44-46" and I can put it on. Can't move my arms but I can put it on. $100 plus shipping
Petite sized Pinafore only. No other parts of the uniform. 26" waist. A few small stains and minor blemishes. Would be great for a reenactor. $35 plus shipping.
So I am buying this grouping I found on Craig's List:

According to the seller they were her fathers and he served Active Duty in Korea in the 50's and left the Reserves in the 90's. The second from the right certainly looks like a belted...
Like circus trains but they moved the carnival. Seems like in their heyday there were dozens. And they are all gone now. But they aren't! There is still one going. Plying the East Coast of the United States.

Pardon the tool talk at the bottom, I originally posted this on a web forum for "Old Woodworking Machinery" hence OWWM.
So here is the situation. Our living room has been progressively becoming more Mid-Century with Heywood-Wakefield pieces. Currently a couch, two arm chairs and a surfboard...
Hey everybody, I'm working on a new living history impression, actually several of us are working on a whole new unit. The 746th Railway Operating Battalion. To that end I'm searching for all kinds of information on the Railway Operating Battalions and the 746th in particular. I would...
Anybody here familiar with this guy's music?
www.bosleymusic.net
Current Baltimore artist with a not so current vibe. Funny thing is he gained a lot of popularity after 98 Rock, the local hard rock station showcased him on their morning show. Something they have done several times now...
While shopping on eBay for items related to Oak Ridge, TN I found some press photos taken late in 1945, most weren't particularly interesting. But this one is coming home with me:

*Moderators please forgive my posting here, but this is my "home" within the lounge and those who miss me would look here first
The reason I haven't been around lately is I took a new job. With DynCorp International, a defense contractor. For the last month I've been living in a tent about...
Lounge member "Sgt Brown" has left us on his final flight. I received this email from Dan Hamilton of the Pittsburg/Ohio Wing of the Airmen's Preservation Society:
"Tom Brown long time A.P.S. member and CO of the Ohio Wing has passed away. Toms health has been slipping for the last couple of...
Hey all,
Am planning a trip to Bermuda for late April. In soaking up information I discovered that not only did Bermuda have a long relationship with the Royal Navy but that the USAAF had an airbase there during WW2. Any good places or books to learn more about this before I go. I know...
My father in-law is a full fledged flea market/yard sale/thrift store addict. A recent find of his was this:
It's three "buttons" like would fit into the button holes on a tuxedo or something and then two cuff links. Was this for one of the really fancy dress uniforms for the Army...
Ok, here's the scoop. I'm researching for a reenactment. I'd like to do something a bit more tactical AF then the heavy bomber groups that my unit usually does. I was thinking of portraying an observation or similar tactical unit, was thinking North Africa for the theater.
Any...
Per another thread. Here is a new thread on the topic of armored cargo aircraft. Looks like the Russian built Li-2 copy of the C-47 was indeed at least sometimes armored:

This topic and various sub-topics have been beaten to death here. I'm posting this not to replace them. But to link together reenactors of the USAAF.
I'm a member of the Capital Wing of the Airmen's Preservation Society or APS. Recently another of our crew just joined here.
I know...
I have several H-W Ashcraft pieces that I will be selling. I haven't yet decided which pieces I want to keep for my living room. But a few that I have I know can go for sure. One is this Chaise Lounge. Just no way it will fit in my small living room. And I don't have a sun porch or Florida...
Friends of mine purchased a home in Oak Ridge, TN. When visiting them and talking with their neighbor I learned that their home and, actually that entire section of Oak Ridge was built during the war. Does anybody know much about these homes?
I found the architecture quite interesting...
I tried searching and didn't come up with anything. But does anybody here collect 16mm films? I just recently bought my first one. "Cactus Makes Perfect" a 3 Stooges short from 1942. The actual film it's on is newer, probably sixties.
