closest thing i've found
So, I did a little bit of search through the internet. Seems anoraks and smocks are not very popular in the US. Closest thing I could find was this...
Haha except when you can't carry it around. Then there isn't much adventuring to be done.
Andy,
the bag i'm looking for is 14 h x 15 w x 9 d. So that would be the larger of the two. Thanks for your time though! I don't want to keep bothering you. If you happen on one, by all means please...
Dear Brian. Thank you for your interes but I can´t tell you exact details because the item is already packed for sending. I know that the strap cant´t be used for the smaller one . The dimension is similar in hight but much smaller. Sorry that I don´t have more information. Greetings Jakob...
Google translates it into this:
Large unkaputbarer cotton / leather backpack with accessories. Strong leather strap. Swiss Army Backpack 1957 (leather brand). Filled approximately 55cm high. Second small backpack without additional straps. Henkelmann and water bottle. Various small linen bag...
Andy,
You are saying the link you just posted is for 2 bags, one larger one smaller? Does he have dimensions on the smaller one? Also, does he say you can transfer the straps, or are you assuming that?
Thanks,
Brian
Andy,
Thanks a bunch. What is the German and Swiss name for "salt and pepper rucksack"? BTW is that what they call them there? Or is that the American name?
Brian
Whoops miscalculated the height, or got it confused with something else. Either way if it's 22 in in height it is not the smaller pack (the smaller pack is 14" H x 15" W x 9" D).
Here's a picture of the smaller pack:

As you can see, it...
Andy,
I think so! About 14 inches in height sounds about right! I wonder how much shipping would set me back. They don't sell those in America anymore?
Brian
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to find the smaller of the two swiss salt and pepper rucksacks. However, Load-up only has the larger one now
http://west.loadup.com/military/surplus/410.html
Anyone have any idea where to get the smaller one? (14" height)
Brian
too bad it's not in America, I'd get killed with shipping...and with the pound rallying against the dollar... (I think).
I can't seem to find the Buzz Rickson 3 button undershirt, I went on their website and I don't see it anywhere.
Brian
awesome!
BTW some cool stuff I found:
http://www.dann-online.com/

I actually have a similar short sleeve version of the henley (except it has a pen pocket on the chest) from Taiwan (it is still worn by the older folk there). I'll post...
Wow, that's awesome! This place is truly a goldmine of information.
BTW if anybody is interested, here are the GI wallace berry undershirts (basically what Pitt is wearing i believe...not totally sure, can someone verify?) for $3 a shirt...but you must buy 50 of them, and they are in extra...
Here is a clearer look at the undershirt i'm talking about...
Are those just regular dress pants he's wearing?
This is from "The assassination of Jesse James"
Brian
Hey,
My name is Brian, and I'm new here. I've always been interested in depression era clothing...especially the undershirt with suspenders and khakis combo. My question is where do I get these items? I think the undershirts are called Henleys or GI Wallace Berry undershirts...but I can't...
