Giant Pith Helmet Thread of Doom
The open weave one that the Mail Carriers wear (also worn by utility workers in my area) are available at uniform supply companies (where cops, postlal workers, etc, buy their uniforms). I bought a white one that fits my 8 1/4 bucket, and sprayed it dark green for Venture Scout activities.- big kahuna

New Panama from Brent Black

hand printed or modified size tags are not unknown in odd-sizes vintage hats. A Hat for Camp

Convert a humburg to fedora?
sell and use the $$$ to get what you want.. I have two neat Homburgs (the '20's 8 1/2 mallory and a '60's Stetson beaver) that were "fedora-ized" at some undetermined point in time. The Steson's brim was too stingy for my taste, and the Mallory's crown is again too tall for the narrow brim...- big kahuna

I use a "European mens carry-all" daily... It's made by Tumi, and contains my wallet, sunglasses, work credentials (and badge), cigars, lighter, knife, phone, etc. Sometimes, my PDA or Ipod. Children's Parties
I fondly remember the kids parties from the 60's and 70's.. The hosting mom would decorate a cake, sometimes with a theme (pirates was a boy's favorite). Kool-Aid. Ice cream in little plastic cups with the wooden paddle-spoon. You would wear the paper cone hat and play pin the tail...- big kahuna
