I looked around and it looks like Magnoli can do some good custom work with good leathers too. Thoughts? I haven't been able to find much as far as unhappy reviews.
I've been able to find some 32oz wool, some sources of 30 oz wool (unfortunately containing nylon), and some 26 oz (also containing nylon). I'm trying to get a vintage coat reproduced. Will I have to go with the extra-heavy 32oz, or will the 30oz with nylon hold up, and is there, out there...
A couple of damage spots to the silk binding, and the hatband has some popped stitching. Really interesting bow. Measures 60.5 cm. It's ventilated!
$115 plus shipping.
Yeah, it's looking like the best option. I made that comment before doing a whole lot fo research and somehow it looks like *that's just the way things are*
Those look nice. I'm looking for a brown Horsehide (I think). Which, it would seem, they don't have a good version of. He quoted me shipping and it would turn out to $410 plus whatever I spent getting the thing there. It looks to me like it's a better idea to go to Johnston Leathers. They seem...
That's what I'm planning on doing. A lot of the guys here are super snobbish ("well, you might as well pay 1K, anything less will be utterly worthless!) but I just... don't have 1K to spend on a jacket. Maybe when I'm 35 and actually have a good salary, but as a college student it's just...
This is exactly what I asked them if I could do. I'm a little worried that they could still mess it up (see: complaints on measurements). You think they do a good job copying, though? I worry a lot, because $350 is a lot of money one way or the other. I'd really love for this to work out...
Hi folks, I am looking at getting a totally custom job from them. There are a lot of posts in the thread and so I'm not sure where to start with reviews. I have a current vintage jacket that has details I want, and I intend to measure certain parts of it to make sure every detail is correct...
Basically- where can I go to get this exact jacket replicated? It is mine but the collar is worn thru in places and I'm frankly afraid to wear it any more. It has a rather specific cut, and some unique details like the ring side adjusters, snap cuff adjusters, and the overall cut. I don't have...
WANT TO BUY:
Another leather jacket like this!
This is German with Zipp zippers, made in the early 50s. Plain back, two ring waist adjusters, adjustable snaps on the cuffs.
I'm about a size 36/37. Will take a little larger.
Thanks!
I sure like it. 1950-1952 German leather jacket, 1930s tie, late 1920s pants, modern Darcy shirt, early 1940s Stetson (which I have since sold). As with anything, it works best when worn with vintage.
