Fedora,
That's the most intelligent thing I have read in a long while. I wish everyone (especially Christians) would understand that. Well put.

This is my first real vintage hat. I have a Royal Stetson that looked okay in the pic, yet is totally beyond anything in real life.
I know Adam was a reputable New York hatter, but does anyone have more info about them? I think BDJ has...
*sigh* :( This is the Whippet you outbid me on. It looked like it had a teardrop crown. If this is so, then maybe it is a later Whippet.
And again, my question is the same: lightweight, or heavier felt? I remember Skip's Whippet from last year at COW, but that post disappeared. Pics, man...
Well, PBR in Tennessee is considered the drink o' the redneck. I find that REALLY interesting that young folks in Seattle and San Fran are bringing it back..
As far as myself, I am enjoying Michelob more lately. I am not sure why, and my compadres dog me about it. The classics are also good...
Are you big into Country music? As far as bars/nightclubs, you could also check out the Wild Horse Saloon. If you are able to get tickets, try the Grand Ole Opry. As far as rock, visit the Exit Inn. The Havana Lounge is quite nice, although I have never been there.
Please visit world famous...
Thanks, Michaelson. One more question, by short crown, what are we talking about here? 5 inches or so? It is hard to tell by the pic on hatsdirect. As far as the ribbon, I can always change it (once I learn how).

Lower crown you say?
How thin is it compared to the other Akubra's? After I sell some of my collection, I want a thinner, 2 1/2 inch brim fedora. I am considering a Borsalino, but this is my kind of proportions.
Yes, see what Ron can about the ribbon. Perhaps make it an option? I know that...
Blues,
I currently own an '84 Indy Stetson (yeah, yeah, I know), with a 4 1/2 inch crown, 2 1/4" sides and 2 1/2" front/back. Odd huh, but it looks great on me. I kinda wish the sides were a little wider, but anyhoo. It ALL has to do with one's face. That is one reason why I don't like my...
Thanks!
What a great site. I have seen many of the gold wire rims around town at antique stores, but none like the rimless frames that Havershaw has. Much obliged.

Thanks MK.
Here is a link to the phone I have. A little on the cheap side, but it works fine, has a mechanical ringer, and looks nice.

Neat thread!
I have one of the repros. It's called "Metropolis"...$21 at Sears. Mechanical ringer. I have seen actualy restored phones from the 40s in antique stores, but I'd rather pay for a nicely done modern reproduction.
Imahomer, any chance of pics of your wooden wall phone? I love...
If you do publish a book, tell me where to find it. I too find barber shops like that one (I went to one as a kid) fascinating. Once I get my digital camera up and running, I'll take some pics of my hometown.
Peace,
