    Lush Life

It's true that Lush doesn't use 'pure' henna, but I checked the list of additives for the henna blocks; they just throw in cocoa butter, some lemon juice sometimes, all the things that people are recommended to mix henna powder with to get maximum color and conditioning. I think the only...

    Lush Life

Honestly, I've never heard this before! Most of the research I've done when trying to grow my hair out said that Henna was the best option for dyeing hair, because it deposits the color on top of the hair shaft and coats it, rather than sinks into it- I had heard the reason for the shine was...

    Old fashioned red hair color?

I'm fairly sure Loreal has a shade which is actually quite close to the picture shown. Revlon colorsilk also has a similar shade, although it's not the highest quality hair dye. I would look for anything in the strawberry blonde range, it tends to be a lighter red.

    Skin Bleaching the safe way...

Thank you all for your advice :) I should probably set up an appointment with a dermatologist anyway, because I've never been to one, and it seems wise to seek out professional advice before launching into something. Who knows, maybe clearing up my skin a little with give me a much needed...

    Skin Bleaching the safe way...

Thank you! I'm sorry, I didn't know there was already a thread on this. I figured there wouldn't be a 'safe' method of doing it...I just hoped the home remedies would be a bit more effective.

    Skin Bleaching the safe way...

First of all: I'm so sorry if this topic has come up before, but I searched the other threads and didn't find much. I've heard a lot about the dangers of bleaching skin- and how many products contain chemicals that can cause serious damage in the long term. I have naturally olive-ish skin tone...

    Show us your hair do's....

My hair is really short. Recently tried slicking it back and using some creative bobby pin work...kind of like really bad pincurls i suppose. Here's what I got... and also

As if we didn't chat about pin curls enough. . .

Hi ladies, sorry if this topic has appeared in the thread before but I didn't have time to read though every post... I have a question: Is it even possible to do tight pin curls with very short hair? Or with hair that has many layers? My hair is about at the bottom of my ear, just barely...

What's your favourite Red Hair colour?

Henna is always a good way to get red hair...as long as your hair hasn't been recently bleached or dyed. Otherwise it can be a disaster. Lush sells a shade called Caca Rouge, it gives a very nice natural red. I think the shade it shows on your hair depends on your natural hair color- I wouldn't...

    Show us your hair do's....

I used to dye my hair with just about anything, when it was longer. It's been through a lot of natural shades and even bright pink; I also ended up with a peculiar purple-ish shade at some point from a questionable box of auburn dye. Recently I used henna (not pure henna exactly, but some stuff...

    Hair Falling Out?

My hair has been falling out for a while now too, and I'm fairly sure it was caused by stress and a poor diet (I don't eat enough, and that certainly doesn't do wonders for your hair). One thing that helped me was making sure I got enough protein...they make soy protein powders that you can put...

The Eaton Crop: I need advice!

My face looks like an oval in this picture, but that's only I took it from an angle...just to get better lighting. My face shape is a bit more round (and I've heard so many beauty discussions about how women with round faces or square faces should avoid blunt bobs) but I figure if I learn to do...

The Eaton Crop: I need advice!

Ok, here's a picture of me...do you all think my face shape is right for any of these styles? I absolutely adore the short bobs everyone has posted...and I'm starting to see how I could force my poofy hair into some style or another! Also I'm sorry, I mistook a short bob for an Eaton Crop, but...

The Eaton Crop: I need advice!

Thank you all so much for your help! I've been lurking at all the websites you all posted and finding more ideas, and wearing a head scarf in the meantime...if anyone wants to give me more distraction (or ideas) feel free to post more pictures of vintage hair! I would love to have more input.

The Eaton Crop: I need advice!

I won't post a picture of myself right now, not until I know what I'm in for :) This image (let's hope it shows up) is more or less what I have.

The Eaton Crop: I need advice!

Hello all! I am currently going through somewhat of a haircut dilemma. I was hospitalized last year, and had to have all my hair shaved off; I was one step away from bald for a good year or so. I am growing my hair out and it has reached a somewhat awkward length- not long enough to resemble...
