those are really cool. do they work like pince nez?

Yes, a bit. I haven't tried them on since I bought them since I'm afraid they will look better on me than if I wasn't wearing them!

If requested, I can probably try them on and strike a lovely pose.

Note the banding isn't so close together as the traditional pince nez, so I think there was a cord or something to hold them on.

By the way, the starting bid is what I vaguely remember paying for them, in case anyone wants to know these things.
