Hello everyone, I’m new here so still learning how all of these threads work.

I have a 1960s (I think) leather biker jacket. Was hoping some of you would have any knowledge to share about it.

The measurements are:
20” pit
21” length
24” sleeve

is it 60s?
How much does the size affect the value?
Possible brand?
Is it horsehide?

Any help or info provided is greatly appreciated!

Just FYI - Nick is a good friend of mine, he loves vintage, well anything and is already quite the collector.

I saw this jacket but was not able to assist with any real information for him. The back suggests Hercules but that does not seem to be the case for the front of the jacket.

Looks like possibly an early 50s Montgomery Wards Windward. If it's the same leather label that I think it is then it's likely horsehide. You can find several examples in this thread:

Based on those dimensions I would guess maybe a size 38. In general, larger sizes seem to command a higher price.

That being said, it's a very nice jacket. Congrats!

This leather tag was used my several makers for a brief period in the early 1950s. Hercules, Appalachian also used these leather tags, also briefly.
Here's mine, looks the same.
Both of the the jackets were made by California Sportswear Co. Fine jackets, your jacket appears unworn, amazing. At least 73 years old.
