Hi Everyone!

Fantastic! I'll try to catch a couple of these. But...where's The Lady Eve? It's definitely among my favorite Barbara Stanwyck movies.

I, for one, am a little upset that there has been no definitive biography written about Barbara. I came across one book online that got really poor reviews. Apparently the author was more interested in trying to prove that Barbara was a bi-sexual rather than focusing on her incredible career. I think it's about time someone writes a serious book on her. This is the book in question:

Stanwyck was great...one of my all time favorites. It's this kind of programming that will cause me to rethink the idea that I don't *need* cable.

Stanwyck was so good, I think she was probably Hollywood's most under-rated actress. She could do anything.

I'll mark my calendar, especially for those "pre-code" movies.

What will the promotion include?

Well, they're sending me some promo photos and some other things too. But, I'm going to add my own promo materials to a special page, notably some LUX Radio Theatre shows that Barbara did. You guys will be able to listen to the shows in their entirety

Perfect reason to buy a Tivo:)

I love the pic in you avatar could you tell me what movie its from?

It's from Double Indemnity. Billy Wilder thought that by making Barbara wear a cheap blond wig, it would add to the shallowness of her character.

Didn't the producers of Double Indemnity comment, "we wanted Barbara Stanwyck and got George Washington"?

An awesome film, btw. Not that I have to tell this crowd.

Right you are sir :) Also, everyone thought the blond wig was hideous, including Wilder after her saw the entire finished film, but it was too late to take it out so they left it in and claimed it to be intentional.
