Thank you Bob! We loose another one from the Greatest Generation, Robert "Bob" Morrison R.I.P. 
Robert "Bob" Morrison A member of America's Greatest Generation, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to many, entered into rest Dec. 13, 2006 at the age of 83. Born to Rollin and Rachael Morrison on Dec. 14, 1922 in Springfield, IL, the oldest of four children: sisters, Lois, Anita Ruth; and brother, Edward. Entered US Army Aviation Cadet's Jan. 1941, commissioned a second Lt in early 1942. Assigned to the 8th Air Force, ETO, with 1st Air Div., 398th Bomb Group as a B-17 bombardier/navigator. Flew 27 combat missions over Europe from Nuthampstead, England. Was shot down over France, escaped to Spain and was returned to England. Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross with three Oak Leaf Clusters; the Air Medal for Combat Service; the Distinguished Service Medal; numerous campaign ribbons; and promoted to captain. Attended Indiana University before recalled to service in 1950. As a member of SAC, flew B-36s and B-52s. Retired from the Air Force in 1967 as a Lt. Col. Joined NASA's Airborne Science Div. at Moffet Field in the spring of 1968. Involved in numerous projects (Northern Lights, origin of comets, the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs). Retired from NASA in 1996. Married Margaret E. Leonard in May 1947. Fathered four children: Theresa, David, John and Tom. Has four grandchildren: Steve, Amelia, Kevin and Megan. Has one great-grandchild, Ian. Visitation at Lima Family Sunnyvale Mortuary on Dec. 18, 2006 from 6-9 PM. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph of Cupertino at 11 AM on Dec. 19, 2006. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos, CA. Donations in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Cancer Society.
