Nailed it to the ground! It seems you fixed the Aero pattern and this jacket reminds me very much of SB’s tail gunner, only the Aero is cooler. I wish I had been more insistent on the drop waist when I ordered my PHWM.
Mine looked like a beetles back

But I see from your photos the jacket looks more like the SB tailgunner, with all that taper:

All that to say, well done! Aero should use your spec and update the pattern.

My PHMW fits more or less the same. The regular pattern just doesn't work with some body types. Hope to get it right on the next attempt with some drop waist (just can't give up, hah). That tailgunner looks amazing, BTW.

Just arrived and fresh out of the box.
I had chosen only Badalassi in black, Loch Carron Tartan wild card and universal zippers. I left the rest to Julie.
I think the jacket turned out great.
However, I now know what is meant by squeaky too lol.

Absolute perfection! This is utter class! Squeaky ain't no problem when it looks as stunning as this!

After I have now worn the Badalassi PHWM a few days, the squeak has given way to a creak. I mean, even that has become a little less. I can in any case live well with it.

I’d be interesting in hearing how this wears compared to your straight zip Lewis jackets.

Good question.

The LL Corsair doesn't feel like a leather jacket at all. More like a sporty fabric jacket. The leather is so soft and flexible that it could be glove leather.

The LL Racing Jacket is a bit more restrictive under the arms than the Corsair, despite minimally larger dimensions. I think that comes from the shoulder pads. After a few minutes, however, I hardly notice anything. The leather is soft, but slightly thicker and minimally stiffer than the Corsair.

The two PHWM are heavier and significantly stiffer than the LL. Thus also somewhat more restrictive when I lift the arms up or forward. But for me everything in the green zone.

If someone wants more uncomplicated sports jacket feeling, then he should rather reach for the LL in veg tanned sheepskin. Is a leather jacket feeling the desire, then definitely the PHWM.

Maybe as a comparison... my brother has the LL Racing Jacket in standard HH in the same size as me and when I tried it on, it felt very restrictive. In contrast, the PHWM are sport jackets. However, this LL was also not yet broken in and almost new.

Even though I find my LL great, the PHWM I like even a tad better.

That is a great fit! How good it is can be seen by comparison :
@MrProper: I know that you had one of you phwymn jackets tailored. Can tell me where?

Both of my PHWM are standard size, then lengthened (sleeve, body, front drop), tapered (hem) and widened (shoulders) to my measurements.
I had both of my Lewis Leathers jackets fitted at a leather tailor.

Are you located in Germany or Austria? I would like to alter my jacket, but am afraid it might get butchered.
I can understand that. I also hesitated for a long time. I am in Austria and have a leather tailor in Linz. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone in Germany. But it would be interesting if someone else here has a tip.

Question about tapering the hem on this jacket: when you specify a certain width is that with the side buckles loose or cinched?

I have always assumed that the measurement is with the buckles open. If I take into account Aero's tolerance of 0.5", that is true for my jackets.

Here are a few details about the Premier Highwayman from Aero in Horweens Cordovan Chromexcel Steerhide, abbreviated CXSH.

The color is special and it looks sometimes more reddish brown sometimes more purple depending on the light. I definitely stand out with it.

I chose brown moleskin as the lining for this jacket and even though it doesn't look like the Lochcarron tartan, the feel is unbeatable. Even if you don't consider moleskin as a lining, definitely use it for the pockets. Your hands will thank you

I also chose the Universal zippers for this jacket because they just work perfectly fine. Since nothing hooks and they also do not seem overstrained.

By the way, the weight of the jacket is 2.7 kg/5.95 lbs.

My Prem HWMN in lightweight CXFQHH seems to lack the brownish undertones. I feel there's also a bit more luster/shine. The graining seems quite different as well.
