Thought I'd post a few photos of the latest addition to my collection...

Akubra 'The Old West'

Truth be told, this is absolutely one of the best hats Akubra have come out with (right up there with the Fed IV, which is one of my other favourites...).

Yes, it's expensive... Like everything Akubra these days, but unlike the other offerings (which are obviously aimed at city types wanting to follow the cowboy trend [there's nothing wrong with that, of course]) this hat is well thought out, designed, and absolutely gorgeous.

It's a mini version of the Sombrero.

Don't think about it, just get one. That's all I can say!

That's beautiful. But it looks like it will catch rain and then dump it down the back or you neck all at once when you look up.

That said, I'm on tank water in the middle of nowhere, so I need all the catchment I can get

Akubra is my go to in the cooler weather. I wear a camp draft and love it. But the old west just blew me away. Thanks for posting!
