It's a shame they forgot to add snaps to the crown on the back.
Well, lucky for us we have a size 36 shoulder aficionado in @greenc who needs his shoulders fitting snug in the jacket -
“Thank you everyone, I appreciate the thoughts.
I'm generally a size 36 (17-inch shoulders, 39-inch chest) so my question began forming when I was imagining the proportions of a jacket that had shoulder and chest measurements that were the same (47 cm for both as I mentioned above).”
That’s not to say - even the size medium at 17.5 in shoulders is also on the small side. I think there’s really no debating that.
Oh I'm sure @Aloysius will try!
I also don't love the Vandals jacket itself -- I have a Schott D-pocket in the form of the Schott x Context CXL 113 and find that to be a better looking pattern and jacket overall than their latest release. It's a boxier, less tubular fit, and it is still somewhat long for the style. As far as their recent D-pocket models, I most prefer their Japanese market 628US model, which is cut quite short and even boxier than the 113.
I tried this jacket on fairly recently. The leather felt really nice and the fit was fairly good aside from it obviously being way too long for me.
As much as I'd want to complain about the price, I'd rather Schott charge more and keep their manufacturing here rather than outsourcing. It's probably my favorite modern Schott jacket I've tried on and basically no stock modern jackets fit me so this was as good as any of them.
I actually don't think this is too long on you! Or at most it is by TFL standards but not by how people actually wore jackets in the Golden Age. There could be other reasons not to get it, but the way this sits on you looks great.
I think the TFL shorthand of "jackets should come to the waistband" works for the low rise people but as someone who wears high waisted trousers in resulted in me ordering expensive jackets that are too short for my frame.
Perhaps I shoukd say that it's longer than I like rather than "its too long." With lower rise trousers it woukd be spot on, but I just prefer a motorcycle style jacket to fit me shorter than this. Regardless, I do like the design, pattern, and leather on this jacket. Easily my favorite Schott I've tried on and I've tried on quite a few actually.I agree with you. I much prefer the Beck 333 design used on the 628. That said, I'm not a big fan of the patterns of the Japanese market models; they don't wear as well as the 'standard' US models, although they have changed some of them in recent years for the better.

Yes the proportions are good and I would say it does fit correctly. I just prefer shorter jackets, but I do think it's a good patternI do concur. It´s an unusual sight for you, @dudewuttheheck , but it does look well proportioned and "fitting" to my eye. Of course, if it´s outside your personal comfort zone, it would take a while to get used to how it sits.
Some pics of my 568 Vandel. The leather is good and the jacket is hefty.
I'm returning mine. It didn't "wow" me...which is vague but that's how I felt. I can't put my finger on why it feels off.
Nevertheless, I still think the jacket is good quality.
