O.k i have done a little research with limited results.
so i thought i'd learn more by askin' here...
It is said the Best way to learn is to ask

Short sleeve button down shirts, when would have time period that they would have started to come into use ? I suppose i'm lookin' for work clothing
Surely not the '20's ...or am i wrong ?

I should also ask for any sites to look at for my own further learning

They had come on the scene by at least the early 1920s, primarily in the context of tennis and other leisurewear, but at that point were far from common.

Thank You,Dinerman
I think i may have already learned.
From even before the Victorian Era (& even before that)
up to 1940's, it was sleeves or no shirt a'tall.

...perdy much a "no brainer",i s'pose

hmmm....
that's a doctored pic though
Looks like a cut-n-paste
Image is FAR too crisp, clear & detailed
& the 3 of them are separate from the backround
the fella in the center is holdin' WWII era (or later) "pineapples"

I'm just gonna stick with long sleeves, roll 'em when need be.
Can't go Wrong with that

Nothing doctored about it, and it was taken 1937.
