Bailey hats.

I saw this Bailey of California listed for cheap on eBay. No size was given, but I was so taken by the look of it that I bought it just for display if it didn't fit.
Well, it's small. About a 6 7/8. But still beautiful.



The brim is 3 3/4 inches, the crown 4 1/2 as creased. About 160 grams. The patent was granted in 1855.I'm guessing the hat was made within the next ten or so years.

Resurection of thread with my Bailey Premier with a really nice roan sweat in Navy, it has a 6 1/2" Open Crown, and a 3 5/8" brim.

Bailey 5X Beaver "FT Worth", 5 3/4" OC, 2 3/4" brim. Even has a wind cord. Don't think one has been posted before. Very nice felt, had a soft Alpine crease (cattleman, banker). I of course re-creased it (dry quick bash). Will give it a good brushing and further refine the look. Nice thick roan sweat. Thinking early to mid-late 70's maybe as everyone was ditching the wind cord after that............

I presume made by Resistol, with the "made in Texas" sweat stamping.

Final picture is the current crease (no steam used).
