Beaver felt hat from Vintage Silhouettes

I was so pleased with the panama hat that Art made for me this summer that I wanted the same block done in beaver felt. Art made one up and I got it this week.

I showed it to my Dad and he said it looked like this hat his cousin Danny was wearing in this old photo;

I've seen a lot of photos of hats that Art has made, but this might be my favorite. I love the color of both the ribbon and the felt. :eusa_clap

The color is mojave. I chose it because I have a fake micro-fiber jacket in the same color. I asked for a 2 5/8" brim, just a tad smaller than the 3" brim on my panama because I didn't want it to look too flamboyant.lol I let Art choose the ribbon color and it really came out nice.

The crown is 4 3/8". About 5/8" taller than my panama.

Seeing it in person, it is a great hat. :eusa_clap The crown detail and felt are what makes the hat. I doubt you will find another out there when you don one of those.

Looks like a raw edge to me - and I know Art doesn't do welted edges yet, because I already tried to cajole him into it, and he said no!
