That looks like the original adjustable collar and it’s in good shape. They can be worn down too, hence the name, so they’re not always getting sweat or, in my case, hair product on them.

Also note how the zipper isn't backed with leather, which makes the slider go up and down more easily.

Yeah GW is keen on vintage correct details. That's a nice one you've got there.

I think the potbelly effect most likely has to do with the bottom front panels, in that photo you can clearly see them causing a bulge out where the top front panels rest on top of them.
