Hello, could I possibly ask for opinions on these shoes:
cata16-partie3-719.jpg

Likes/dislikes? They are from http://www.doursoux.com/ and cost 90 euro which is about $123 and they are advertised as 'Repro of those used by the English Army in the far East. Wear by the officers .Fabric : strong cotton jungle green and brown leather, sole sewn good year and shank leather. Derby shape, leather laces.'

Thanks for your time/opinions.

Hi, I know you guys are busy but would anyone venture an 'ok' or a 'terrible', 'inauthentic' or anything? I value your judgement and have neve seen these before so just wondered do they look like what they claim to be?

Stephen, funny conincidence- I was looking at those shoes a few days ago.

I have 2 reasons for not liking them-
1) they aren't nicely shaped, or proportioned and the colour and texture mixture doesn't work for me. Ugly to my eye, like something you'd find in a bargain shoe shop.

2) partly the same reason as above but also, they don't look like anything out of the '30s or '40s.

My opinions.

Maybe they're a poor facsimile of an original item... I seem to have avoided ever hearing of such a shoe.

OK. I'll stop now.
