Tried the cattleman's crease on my Akubra Camp Draft. No luck. From the sides it look really nice. From the front it looked like a dented Campbell's Soup can...

Great modification of the classic Cattleman's crease, it looks good on you!

I really do like that Montana Slope. Maybe just a little softer version for the Fed. There will b alot of open crown height to work with and very little crown taper so I think it will work and be just something a little diff from the usual Indy.

I'd love to see what a Fed IV looks like with that crease. You'll have to show us!

My attempt at g.durand's modified cattleman on Akubra Camp Draft and Bushman. Looking at these now I think I'm going to adjust the Bushman, it's too far forward. The Silverbelly Camp Draft I'm happy with.

p.s. On an unrelated subject somebody, I think it was gtdean48 mentioned doing some additional pouncing or sanding on Akubra's as they are roughly finished. Good advice, they feel so much better in hand now.

With all due respect... really LIKE it on the Bushman. ALOT! Maybe just a little MORE of all u got goin on? A little longer pinch, sharper and deeper all around.

You'll get your PM pic on FB. You can go "public" on the Lounge if you'd like. No release required. Lol.

That's the crease I have on the VS hat in my avatar. I think it's very versatile. I based it on a picture I saw from the 1920s.

Alan, did you outbid me for that hat on ebay a few years ago?

They both look good but I favor the Campdraft, to me it's more of what a modified cattleman crease should look like, just my opinion though.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to live with them for a while as is. I'll revisit them in a month or two with "fresh eyes" and maybe make adjustments then.

I don’t like however how after awhile my creases get further pinched together through the years... I will load what I mean

Image 1. What it looks like now
Images 2. What it use to look like... not pinched
Image 3. What the other side looks like compared to how it use to look

Is there a way to get it to stay the same with at fuller crease? Or will it just convert back to the thin pinched crease?
Btw that’s a lot of cat hair
